Kid’s Play
…an ensemble consisting of pre-teens and teens (ages 6-18) invited to participate in a year-long art residency at the Hope Center studios (1210 W. Clay, Ste. 26). Master teachers Chris Howard (music) and Gayla Miller (theater) Roberta Cortes (dance) Patrick Ferreri (dance/yoga) Simon Gentry (photography) Jason Jackson (music) join Jane Weiner (dance) in teaching the students. The students attend classes each week, working more intensely in the artistic fields, under the guidance of their teachers. With this more in-depth study and immersion in the art, the students are then able to create new pieces that reflect their level of learning.
A new cutting edge kid’s performance is scheduled each Spring. This performance enhances the student’s self-esteem,provides positive seeking of self, all guided by master teachers. The culmination of the work in a nurturing and supportive performance atmosphere creates a positive boost to each child.
